Description

Have you ever thought about the trees in a forest as members of a close-knit family? This idea, beautifully explored in Peter Wohlleben’s The Hidden Life of Trees, inspired my latest work, “Embrace of the Forest.”
In this painting, the trees huddle together, their branches interweaving like the arms of a nurturing community. Wohlleben shares that in a healthy forest, trees don’t compete—they support each other. They synchronize their growth, share nutrients, and create a stable environment for all. It’s nature’s version of social security—a system where everyone benefits when they stick together.
Contrary to what we might think, trees growing close isn’t a problem—in fact, it’s what makes them thrive. Just like us, they are stronger when they lean on each other.
What if we took a leaf out of their book? What if we saw our own communities in the same light, where our well-being is intertwined, and our strength comes from the connections we nurture?
